Trip

In Oaxaca, the Days of the Dead fill homes with altars and cemeteries with flowers and candles. The trip travels through the Central Valleys, Mitla —whose Nahuatl name, Mictlán, means «place of the dead»— and Monte Albán, and goes down to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, to Juchitán, where the celebration has a different rhythm.

Based in the city of Oaxaca, with outings to the Central Valleys and a few days on the Isthmus.
